MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Soccer Assistant Coach Hannah Hoefs has been named to the 2023-24 United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program. The class features 30 individuals selected from a pool of over 270 applicants.
Launched in 2013, the 30 Under 30 Program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity designed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession who are 30 years of age or younger.
"It's an honor to be named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 under 30," said Hoefs. "I am looking forward to my continued development as a coach with all the resources and opportunities that I will have access to. I've been fortunate enough to have such great mentors and the opportunity to work under someone as experienced as [Head Coach] Aston Rhoden to learn from. I'm excited to expand my coaching education and to learn from others during this program."
Hoefs joins an exemplary class of coaches across men's and women's soccer. Two professional coaches, 16 college coaches, two high school coaches and 10 youth/club coaches were named to this year's class.
It's the second time an MTSU coach has been named to a 30 Under 30 cohort, with former assistant Chris Cahill being named to the initial class in 2013-14.
Hoefs—a former standout as a midfielder during her playing career at Loyola (MD)—has been an instrumental asset with the Blue Raider outfield players since joining Rhoden's staff in 2022. Under Hoefs, midfielders Manon Lebargy and Eleanor Gough have blossomed into leading goalscorers. Lebargy currently leads the squad with six goals in 2023 (as of October 13) while Gough closely follows with four. Additionally, midfielder Yana Yordanova currently leads the team with 12 shots on goal.
