Blue Raiders defeat UTEP in four on Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team took on the UTEP Miners on Saturday at Alumni Memorial Gym. The Blue Raiders topped the Miners in four sets.
The Blue Raiders (18-6, 9-3 CUSA) defeat the UTEP Miners (17-8, 9-5 CUSA) with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 27-25 and 25-19. In the match, MTSU had a hitting percentage of .412. The Blue Raiders extended their win streak to eight.
Sophomore Adri Rhoda lead the team in kills with 18 on a .452 hitting clip. Redshirt senior Kayla Henley totaled 11 kills on a hitting percentage of .400. Junior Laure Jansen tallied 10 kills and seven digs. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson earned nine kills on .818 hitting percentage. Oscarson added three blocks and two assists. Graduate student Dasia Smith recorded eight kills on a .429 hitting clip. Senior Taylor Eisert finished the match with 47 assists earning 11.75 per set. Freshman Allyson Eckel set a new career-high in digs finishing the match with 11 digs.
