Charleston, S.C. — Middle Tennessee men's golf is in first place through one round at Charleston Southern's Daniel Island Intercollegiate. Kevin Jegers is tied for the individual lead at 66 (-6).
The Blue Raiders combined for a team score of 283 (-5) Sunday, taking a one-stroke lead over Coastal Carolina down the home stretch. Jegers birdied four of his final seven holes of the day on the way to his lowest round of the year.
Michael Barnard shot a 71 (-1) for MTSU's second-lowest score of the first round. He played a consistent round, picking up three birdies and just two bogeys, ending the day in a tie for 13th.
Owen Stamper recorded the 52nd par-or-better round of his career Sunday with a 72 (E). He picked up four birdies on the day, including one on the 18th hole to bring him pack to par, where he is tied for 22nd individually.
Markus Varjun is tied for 45th at 74 (+2), while Gavin Clements ended play in a tie for 87th at 81 (+9).
