Blue Raiders maintain hold on lead, Jegers still tied for first

Charleston, S.C. — Middle Tennessee men's golf picked up 10 of its 16 birdies on the back nine in the second round to keep hold of its lead in the Daniel Island Intercollegiate. Kevin Jegers finished the day tied for first individually once again after carding a 71 (-1) Monday.
The Blue Raiders combined for a team score of 285 (-3) Monday, finishing the round with a one-stroke lead over South Carolina at 568 (-8). Jegers picked up three of his four birdies in the second half of the round, ending the day with a score of 137 (-7).
Michael Barnard moved up to a tie for sixth place at 140 (-4). His score of 69 (-3) was MTSU's lowest Monday.
Markus Varjun shot a 71 (-1) in the second round, leading the team with five birdies on the day. He is tied for 25th individually with a score of 145 (+1).
Owen Stamper is tied for 40th at 147 (+3) after a round of 75 (+3). Gavin Clements is tied for 78th at 155 (+11).
