MTSU wins all singles on day three of the MTSU Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis finished play at the MTSU Invitational at the Adams Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The Blue Raiders took on Tennessee State in singles winning all five matches. Lena Peyer defeated Louise Ratiu 6-2, 6-2. Sana Garakani won 6-1, 4-6, 10-2 agaisnt Warona Mdlulwa. Lilly-Sophie Schmidt picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Jovana Nikolic. Eloise Swabrick defeats Daniela Koleva 2-6, 7-5, 10-5. Hrudaya Shah tallied a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Francisca Gomez-Weiss.

In doubles, MTSU took on WKU with WKU winning both matches.

"I think the girls had a solid showing this weekend. It was our first competition of the season and once we settled in we started to play the way I know we could. Though we did not have our full team compete due to injury, we showed toughness and know what we need to focus on before ITA Regionals."

The Blue Raiders will compete in the ITA Regional Championships from Wednesday, Oct. 18 to Monday, Oct. 23.
