Saturday's match was particularly dominant, as MTSU held SHSU to a hitting percentage of -.096 for the match. Sunday's win saw Kaylee Oscarson earn her 100th solo block in her career. After splitting games at FIU earlier last week, MTSU enters this week's road series at LA Tech third in the Conference USA standings.

"This one will sting for a few days," head coach Mark McEntire said. "We played great all day and just did not get it done down the stretch. This is the third week in a row that we have been in contention. We just need to keep putting ourselves in that position. We have a very good team. Congrats to Owen on another great week! Michael had another solid tournament, and I thought we played solid overall."

"I think the girls had a solid showing this weekend," Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall said. "It was our first competition of the season and once we settled in, we started to play the way I know we could. Though we did not have our full team compete due to injury, we showed toughness and know what we need to focus on before ITA Regionals."

CUSA Tipoff in Huntsville set for next Monday
I'm very excited for where I'll be filing the Monday Notebook next week, as I'll be on the road in Huntsville, Ala. for the return of the live, in-person CUSA Tipoff, which has always been a virtual affair since I've been at MTSU.
In addition to hearing from all 18 basketball head coaches in Conference USA, as well as 18 student-athletes from each of the programs, the press day action will all be inside the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which is a pretty fun venue I'm excited to work in next week!
MTSU, as the closest school to Huntsville, has been given the final time slot on the ESPN+ live show. Make sure to tune in at 1:45 p.m. to hear from Nick McDevitt, Rick Insell, Courtney Whitson and Justin Bufford about the upcoming season in the Murphy Center!
