Vattiato, Brumfield on CUSA All-Academic Team

DALLAS – Eleven Conference USA football student-athletes were named to the 2023 CUSA Football All-Academic Team for excelling both on and off the field this season. Middle Tennessee's Nicholas Vattiato and Sam Brumfield both made the prestigious team.
Vattiato, a redshirt sophomore, is coming off a career season where he threw for 3,092 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is just the fifth player in school history to top 3,000 yards in a single-season. Vattiato, who had nine games of 200 or more yards passing, carries a 4.00 GPA in exercise science.
Brumfield, in his first year with MTSU, led the Blue Raiders with 81 total tackles to go with 6.5 TFLs, a team-high 3.5 sacks and eight quarterback hurries. He also added two forced fumbles.
Brumfield has a 4.00 GPA in integrated studies.
