MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Soccer has announced three transfer signees, bringing its total 2024 signing class to nine members.
Forward Arianna Kinsley, defender Allie Draper and goalkeeper Maddie Elbro each join the program ahead of the 2024 season. Kinsley and Draper both come to MTSU from Daytona State College, and will enter their junior seasons Fall 2024. Elbro meanwhile is a graduate transfer, using her final year of eligibility in Murfreesboro after spending her undergraduate career at Division II Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania.
Kinsley comes to Murfreesboro after stops at Alabama A&M and most recently, at Daytona State. The native of Naples, Fla. started in each match for Daytona State this past season, with a team-high 12 goals and 25 points, earning NJCAA All-Region 8 First Team accolades. One of the top junior college forwards nationally this past season, six of Kinsley's goals were game-winning goals.
Kinsley's breakout season came at the heels of an impressive freshman campaign at Alabama A&M, where she played in each match and recorded 16 shots in 2022.
Before college, Kinsley played club soccer for FC Prime ECNL in Broward County, Fla., where she was teammates with current Blue Raider defender Jessica Oliveras. Kinsley also starred at Naples High School, where she compiled 45 goals and 14 assists across four years.
"Ari is a strong and powerful forward. She's capable of scoring goals in many ways and as such will create various challenges for defenders. Her experience at playing at the collegiate level will be an asset to our offense," said head coach Aston Rhoden.
Draper reunites with Kinsley after two seasons at Daytona State. The defender started in each match for the Falcons in 2023. As a freshman in 2022, the Lutz, Fla. native scored twice and added an assist. She also claimed a NJCAA All-Academic First Team spot in 2022.
Before her collegiate career, Draper played for Steinbrenner High School and Florida Premier FC ECNRL.
"Allie is a tenacious and competitive defender. She's strong in the air and in the tackle. She possesses great passing range and can play as an outside back as well as a center back. Her experience playing at the collegiate level will be beneficial for us," said Rhoden.
Elbro joins the Blue Raiders upon completing an excellent four-year career in goal at Mercyhurst. The native of Kinver, England started all 21 games for the Lakers in 2023, leading the squad to a 16-4-1 record and an NCAA Tournament at-large berth. Standing at 6-0 and holding a 0.63 goals against average in '23, Elbro logged a 0.851 save percentage and 3.52 saves per game. Additionally, she is a two time All PSAC West 1st team selection and a two-time PSAC West Defensive Player of the year.
Before coming to the US to play at Mercyhurst, Elbro played club soccer for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
"Maddie is a solid keeper with good shot stopping abilities and athleticism. She is technically proficient and plays well with her feet. Her experience having played four years at the collegiate level will be an asset to us and will make our goalkeeper union a lot more competitive," Rhoden said.
