Blue Raiders fall in series finale after weather delay

RUSTON, La. – Middle Tennessee softball drops the final game of series at Louisiana Tech 4-1. The Blue Raiders now stand at 4-2 in conference play after this weekend's series win over Louisiana Tech.
The Blue Raiders got out to an early lead in the first inning after a RBI single by Anyce Harvey that scored Laura Mealer. Louisiana Tech then took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after three straight walks. Kamryn Carcich came into the circle with bases loaded to try to hold the Lady Techsters off. After a two-run single, LA Tech took the lead 2-1 heading into the second inning.
LA Tech added to their lead, plating another run in the bottom of the third making it 3-1 in favor of the Lady Techsters.
After five innings of play, there was a lightning delay that paused the game for nearly two hours. Once play finally resumed, LA Tech scored an insurance run on a sacrifice fly to go into the seventh inning with a 4-1 lead where they were able to hold on.

· Claire Woods started her first game of the season.
· Middle Tennessee was tied for first place in the C-USA standings coming into today's game.
· MTSU is now 4-2 in conference play after finishing the series with LA Tech 2-1.

MTSU will host Florida Atlantic on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. to continue conference play.
