Blue Raiders in eighth after two rounds at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's golf finished the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship in eighth place at 580 (+12). Michael Barnard and Gavin Clements led the way in the second round with matching scores of 72 (+1).
On a second straight beautiful day with temperatures reaching the low 70s and no more than a light breeze, the Blue Raiders scored a collective 293 (+9).
Barnard ended the round in a tie for 14th with a team-leading score of 140 (-2). He picked up three birdies in the second round to bring his total to eight for the tournament.
Gavin Clements heads into the third round tied for 47th at 146 (+4). He was 3-over on the front nine Tuesday before recording eight pars and an 18th-hole eagle on the back nine.
Markus Varjun was the lone Blue Raider under par on the front nine, finishing the round with five birdies. He ended the round tied for 47th at 146 (+6) as well.
Owen Stamper did not record a hole under par on the front nine but rebounded to go one-under on the back, carding three birdies in the process. He is tied for 70th at 151 (+9) after shooting a 75 (+4) Tuesday.
Kevin Jegers' 78 (+7) was the mark that did not count toward the Blue Raiders' team score Tuesday. He heads into the third round tied for 70th at 151 (+9) after finishing on a high note with back-to-back birdies on the final two holes.

6 – Six of the seven teams ahead of MTSU on the leaderboard are ranked in the top 50 in the country by Golfstat.
