Two Rounds Complete at Squire Creek

CHOUDRANT, La. – The Blue Raiders fired a round on 7-over-par 295 on Monday to sit in 16th place after 36 holes at the Argent Financial Collegiate at Squire Creek Country Club. Redshirt junior Jake Hopper and freshman Cooper Solberg lead Middle Tennessee at 3-over-par 147 and are tied for 61st.
South Alabama is atop the leaderboard with a 36-hole total of 15-under-par 561. They are followed by Rice and Southern Mississippi at 10-under-par 566, while Houston and Memphis are tied for fourth at 9-under-par 567. The Blue Raiders are in 16th with a 36-hole total of 13-over-par 589.
Houston's Hudson Weibel, South Alabama's Joshua Hill and Southern Miss' Matthew Javier are tied atop the individual standings with 36-hole totals of 7-under-par 137, while a quartet of players are tied for fourth at 6-under-par 138. Hopper and freshman Cooper Solberg lead Middle Tennessee at 3-over-par 147 and are tied for 61st.
The Argent Financial Classic continues with a final 18 holes on Tuesday, Sep. 9. Final round action will begin at 8:00 a.m. CT.
The Lineup
• Solberg paced the Blue Raiders on the day, carding an even-par 72. For the tournament, he is tied for 61st at 3-over-par.
• Hopper posted a second round of 1-over-par 73. He is also tied for 61st at 3-over-par for the tournament.
• Redshirt sophomore Connor Henry fired a second round of 2-over-par 74, which featured the first eagle of the year for the Blue Raiders. For the tournament, he is tied for 86th at 8-over-par.
• Freshman Maddox Crowder posted a 4-over-par 76 on day two at Squire Creek. He is tied for 75th at 6-over-par.
• Sophomore Oliver Baker carded a second round of 7-over-par 79 and is also tied for 75th at 6-over-par.
• Freshman Will Pinson represented Middle Tennessee as an individual. He rounded out the Blue Raiders with a second round of 10-over-par 82 and is tied for 95th at 11-over-par.

"We got off to a rough start and couldn't catch up," said Head Coach Mark McEntire. "I was glad to see us fight to get a few back, but it wasn't enough. We need to get back to our business plan and keep getting reps."
