Phillips is currently a senior at Grace Christian Academy in Franklin, Tenn. He is a four-year starter, having hit .413 with 7 HR and 60 RBI in his junior season. The son of Brad and Jennifer Phillips, he is currently hitting .489 in his Senior season.
"We're very pleased to be adding Trace Phillips to our next incoming class," said head coach Jerry Meyers. "He is an outstanding two-way player that is athletic and will continue to develop as he fills out. He has a great frame and has been well coached in the program he's played in up to this point. We are looking forward to his arrival next fall and having the opportunity to have him join us as our newest Blue Raider."
Phillips led GCA to District Championships in 2021 and 2022, with a Region Championship and a TSSAA State Semifinal Appearance a season ago. He was District Player of the Year and an All-State recipient in 2022, and is also a two-time All-District honoree in basketball.

His father Brad also serves as his travel baseball coach, having played a stint with the Texas Rangers Minor League organization from 1989-90.
Phillips intends to major in Sports Management at MTSU.
