Blue Raiders in 11th through two rounds in NCAA Salem Regional

SALEM, S.C. — Middle Tennessee men's golf finished the second round of the NCAA Salem Regional at 574 (-2). The Blue Raiders carded a 291 (+3) as a team Tuesday and sit in 11th place as a team heading into the third round. Michael Barnard leads the team at 138 (-6).
Barnard carded a 72 (E) in the second round, picking up four birdies on the way. He is tied for 13th individually, seven strokes off the lead.
Kevin Jegers matched Barnard for the Blue Raiders' lowest score in the second round with a 72 (E). He is tied for 37th at 143 (-1) after carding four birdies of his own Tuesday.
Owen Stamper led MTSU with six birdies in the second round, but mishaps on holes 2 and 8 limited him to a 74 (+2). He is tied for 45th at 144 (E).
Markus Varjun bounced back with a 73 (+1) in the second round, birdieing three holes in the process. He moved up six spots on the leaderboard to 68th. Gavin Clements rounds out the lineup in 70th at 155 (+11).
The top five teams and the top individual not on those advancing teams will move on to the NCAA Championship. The Blue Raiders are 21 strokes behind fifth-place Northern Illinois. The top player not on the top five teams is Clemson's Andrew Swanson, who is 12-under.
