Blue Raiders to Play in Elimination Game Saturday Afternoon

Middle Tennessee fell 12-9 to Charlotte Saturday morning to set up a second matchup.

The Blue Raiders will have one more chance to reach the tournament final in the 4:00 p.m. matchup, with either Dallas Baptist or Western Kentucky awaiting in the C-USA Championship game Sunday.

Saturday's afternoon game will be shown on ESPN+. WGNS 101.9 FM / 1450 AM (Murfreesboro), WGNS 100.5 FM (Smyrna), GoBlueRaiders.com and the Varsity Network App will carry the radio broadcast.Â

In the morning cap, Charlotte opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with three runs, two of which came on a two-run home run.Â

Briggs Rutter answered with a solo home run in the top of the second, before Eston Snider tripled with two outs later in the frame to make it 3-2.Â

The 49ers retook a two-run lead in the third before a Coker RBI groundout once again made it a one-run game.Â

Charlotte went ahead 8-3 in the bottom of the fifth, and after a Jackson Galloway homer in the sixth, the 49ers further extended its lead with another four runs in the sixth. Â

The Raiders didn't go quietly, however. Wright doubled in a late run in the eighth for MTSU, before Jeremiah Boyd had the season's first grand slam in the ninth.Â
