Athlon Sports recognizes 13 Blue Raiders on preseason team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Athlon Sports recently released its 2023 Preseason C-USA All-Conference Team and 13 Blue Raiders were recognized.
The Blue Raiders had six first team selections, a second team pick, three on the third team and three on the fourth team.
Defensive players Zaylin Wood (DE), Marley Cook (DT), Devyn Curtis (LB), Teldrick Ross (CB), and Tra Fluellen (S) were all placed on the first team defense, while place-kicker Zeke Rankin was the first team specialist. In 2022, Ross was a second team all-league pick while Curtis was a freshman all-American. Wood, Cook, Fluellen and Rankin were all honorable mention All-C-USA members.
The lone second team honor went to running back Frank Peasant who was an honorable mention All-C-USA performer in 2022.
Offensive standouts DJ England-Chisolm (WR) and Sterling Porcher (OT) made the third team, along with linebacker Drew Francis.
Fourth team additions were offensive lineman Keylan Rutledge and defensive linemen Jordan Branch and Quindarius Dunnigan.
The Blue Raiders report to camp on August 1 in preparation for the season opener at Alabama on Sept. 2.
