Blue Raiders add transfer Cassidy Mataia for 2023-2024 season

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis head coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall has announced the addition of Cassidy Mataia to the program for the 2023-24 season.
"I am very excited to have Cassidy as a Blue Raider," said Coach Bailey-Duvall. "Her experience from a championship team and solid tennis foundation will strengthen our team as we start this new Conference USA journey with so many new schools."
A native of Brisbane, Australia, Mataia transfers to the Blue Raiders from Georgia Gwinnett College after completing her first two seasons with the Grizzlies.
Cassidy helped lead the Grizzlies to back-to-back NAIA National Championships. She was named 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Doubles All-American. During her two years at Georgia Gwinnett, Mataia went 24-2 in both singles and doubles.
Before her time at Georgia Gwinnett, Cassidy attended St. Aidan's Anglican Girls' School in Brisbane, Australia.
During her time in high school, Mataia won the Premiership and went undefeated all four years.
