Blue Raiders return to Murfreesboro for battle with unbeaten Liberty

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After three consecutive fixtures away from Murfreesboro, Middle Tennessee Soccer returns to Dean A. Hayes Stadium for the first time in two weeks.
The Liberty Flames await the Blue Raiders for a 7:00 p.m. first touch Thursday night. ESPN+ will carry the match.
Notes and Storylines
» When Liberty comes to Murfreesboro Sept. 21, it will mark the first time the Flames have met the Blue Raiders in either programs' history.
» Sophomore M Manon Lebargy scored goals in three consecutive matches for the Blue Raiders from Aug. 31 - Sept. 7. The Lille, France native had a first half brace against Lipscomb on Aug. 31, before giving Middle Tennessee an insurance goal in the 80' against Cleveland State Sept. 3. And on Sept. 7 vs. Chattanooga, Lebargy headed in a corner kick in the 56.' Lebargy is the first MTSU player to score in at least three consecutive matches since 2021, when Peyton DePriest had goals in four straight fixtures (Sept. 5-16).
» Eleanor Gough has scored twice for the Blue Raiders this year, both in the 87'. She had the match-winner in a 1-0 victory at Howard Aug. 27 before equalizing at Tennessee Tech on Sept. 17 in a 2-2 draw.
» G Hannah Suder and D Caroline Manley seek spots on all-time program career record lists in 2023.
Suder currently stands in the top 10 of numerous program goalkeeping records, including being tied for fifth in career saves (198), fourth in games started (54), fourth in games played (59) and fourth in minutes played (4,970:32).
Manley meanwhile has started in all 71 Blue Raider matches across her career. She currently stands at 5,216 consecutive minutes across 59 matches dating back to Oct. 11, 2019. With 6,492 total minutes under her belt, she moved to No. 4 all-time in career minutes played in program history among outfield players, and is the 12th Blue Raider to enter the 6,000 minute club.
Behind Enemy Lines
» Liberty is one of four new programs in CUSA this season, joining the league from the Atlantic Sun Conference. Thursday night's match marks its first as a member of CUSA.
» The Flames are one of just two squads remaining in Division I to carry a perfect record, at 9-0-0. With a 19-0-3 record over its last 22 games, Liberty holds the longest current unbeaten streak in Division l. The program's last loss came on Sept. 11, 2022 at Pitt (3-2).
» Six players currently have multiple goals and two players have 10 points. Senior midfielder Rachel DeRuby and forward Ivy Garner lead the squad with four goals each and also have two assists.
» The Flames were pegged to finish first in Conference USA under head coach Lang Wedemeyer, who is in his seventh season.
