MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team has announced the signing of transfer Alivia Bronner. She will be transferring from Northern Iowa to Middle Tennessee for the 2024 season and will be joining the team this January.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Alivia Bronner to our program, said MTSU Associate Head Jenna Orner. "Alivia is a talented defender and passer that possesses a very high game IQ, as well as understands the level you have to train to win a championship. Her competitive spirit and drive will add to our back row this Fall. We are thankful she is with us this spring to train and prepare for the season."
In her two seasons with the Panthers, the Cedar Falls, Iowa native won two conference championships and reached the NCAA Tournament twice. In 2022, the Panthers advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. This last season the team went undefeated in conference. She was a member of the MVC Honor Roll and made the Dean's List in her three semesters at UNI.
Before her collegiate career, Bronner totaled 1,183 career digs, 150 aces and 173 assists. In 2019, she was named Honorable Mention All-Conference and All-Metro. In 2020, Alivia earned First Team All-Conference, All-Metro and All-District and Second Team All-State. In her junior year, she was the 5A leader in digs and serve attempts and success. In 2021, Bronner was tabbed First Team All-Conference, All-Metro and All-District for the second straight year. She made the 5A State All-Tournament Team and was First Team All-State. In the same year, Alivia broke her school record in career digs at Cedar Fall High School.
"I chose MTSU because of how welcomed I felt from the coaching staff and the culture of the team really sounded like something that I wanted to be a part of," said Bronner. "Along with that, I am looking forward to the level of volleyball that MTSU plays at!"
