Blue Raiders Log 13 Personal Bests to Close the Regular Season

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - Middle Tennessee Cross Country wrapped up the regular season this morning with 13 total personal bests in the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Freshman, Allan Kiplagat, led the Blue Raiders once again finishing in fourth place out of 376 runners by shaving nearly a minute off of his PR with a time of 22:28.1. Brian Kiptoo was just outside the top 10 at 13th place with a 23:02.6 time. Carmelo Cannizzaro and Jacinto Gaspar ran the whole way together and finished within a second of each other at 57th and 59th place. Vincent Yegon completed the Blue Raiders score with 114th place finish. The men finished in seventh place out of 38 teams including three CUSA opponents in UTEP, Sam Houston, and New Mexico State.
On the women's side, Odilia Jepchumba finished in 8th place to secure a 12th place finish out of 41 teams. She also nearly shaved a minute off of her personal best with a time of 19:32.7. Sandra Maiyo wasn't far behind with a 20 minute flat time placing her in 24th. Eleanor Towe also had herself a PR with a time of 20:16.2. Privilege Chikara and Agnes Chepkurui brought in the final two scores with their first race of the season.
The Blue Raiders are now eyeing the Conference USA Championship on November 2nd hosted by Jacksonville State.
