Blue Raiders Win Singles vs. ETSU on Day Two of Buck Bouldin Classic

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – On the second day of the Buck Bouldin Fall Classic, the Middle Tennessee men's tennis team splits a pair of doubles matches and won three of four singles matchups against the East Tennessee State Buccaneers today at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Facility.
Just as they did against Virginia Tech yesterday, Igor Mandou Berranger and Kristian Thomas started off the day for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3 doubles win over Tennessee Tech's Pedro Cressoni and Juan Andres Listo. Rostislav Halfinger and Shu Matsuoka fell in the No. 1 seed match in a final point tiebreaker 7-6 (7).
Middle Tennessee took three of four from ETSU in singles play. Matsuoka, Ondrej Horak and Thomas recorded wins in the first, third and fourth seeded matches, respectively. Matsuoka and Horak both won in straight sets, while Thomas, after dropping the first set, came from behind to defeat the Buccaneers' Carlos Gonzales 6-4, 6-3 in the second and third frame.
The Buck Bouldin Fall Classic will conclude tomorrow morning with day three, as Middle Tennessee takes on Tennessee Tech at 10 A.M. at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Facility.
