Middle Tennessee Faces Liberty in Final CUSA Road Match

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. –The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team (7-8-0, 4-3-0 CUSA) is set to close out its Conference USA road schedule for the 2024 season, as the Blue Raiders take on the Liberty Flames (12-1-4, 4-1-2 CUSA) at 12 P.M. CT in Lynchburg, Va.
History vs. Liberty
The Blue Raiders face Liberty for just the second time in program history, with their first-ever meeting coming last season, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Flames in Murfreesboro.
About Middle Tennessee
The Blue Raiders will look to win their fourth match out of their previous five in CUSA play when they take Liberty tomorrow afternoon in Lynchburg. Prior to the 2-1 loss to Sam Houston on Oct. 20, Middle Tennessee won three in a row, including wins over Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State and Western Kentucky.
Middle Tennessee remains in control of the fifth seed in the Conference USA table, with the Blue Raiders remaining just two points behind second-placed Liberty.
Star midfielder Manon Lebargy continues to stay right on the heels of CUSA's top goalscorer, FIU's Noemi Paquin, with 10 goals, to go with 24 points and four assists, thus far in 2024.
Goalkeeper Demi Gronauer continues to lead the conference in the save department with 72, along with three clean sheets.
About Liberty
Liberty enters the weekend controlling the second overall seed in the CUSA standings with just two matches, and just over a week, until the start of conference tournament on Nov. 4 in Miami, Fla.
The Flames are coming off a scoreless draw against Western Kentucky in Bowling Green on Oct. 19, their second draw in conference play this season. Prior to that match against the Hilltoppers, Liberty went unbeaten in their previous four outings, including wins over Louisiana Tech, Sam Houston and UTEP.
As a team, the Flames boast the fewest goals allowed this season with 11 and the second most goals scored with 34, second only to Jacksonville State's 35.
Forwards Halle Engle and Ivy Garner feature as Liberty's top goalscorers with nine and seven goals on the season, respectively.

MTSU vs. Liberty is scheduled for a 12 P.M. CT kickoff tomorrow in Lynchburg.
