Team Snider wins Fall World Series with 19 runs scored on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Eston Snider and his team dominated Game 3 to win the Fall World Series, two games to one.
Trace Phillips put Team Snider on his back in Game 1, going 4.1 scoreless innings while striking out six and walking one. He topped out with a 96-mph fastball while dialing in his changeup and slider. He also posted a .400 batting average for the series.
Tyler Minnick was also a difference-maker for Team Snider, hitting a go-ahead two-run shot en route to the 6-1 victory over Team Wirtz.
Chandler Alderman and Drew Horn were on the mound for Saturday's matchup, and both gave their teams a good chance to win. Alderman went 3.2 innings with five strikeouts and no walks, while Horn went three full innings, striking out four and reaching 96 mph on the radar gun.
For Team Snider, two home runs by Keaton Ray and Grant Snider helped put three runs on the board, but that wasn't enough as Team Wirtz took Game 2, 5-3.
The rubber match on Sunday was all Team Snider. They scored a run in the second, but the floodgates opened in the fourth when they put up 11 runs in the frame. Eston Snider and his team put their foot on the gas and tallied 19 runs in seven innings for the 19-0 win.

"We just came out and had fun. We knew we had the better opportunities, and it was just a good team win. Me and (James) Sells talked a lot about it, and going against my roommate (Jalen Wirtz), this was a lot of fun, and I'm glad we got the win."

"That was a very competitive series until the blowout inning (in Game 3). I thought our guys played hard the whole time. Defensively, we did some really good things, and offensively, too. We also had some good outings on the mound. All in all, outside of the bad inning, it was very competitive."

2: The way players Cole Torbett and Trace Phillips each showed their talents this weekend. Torbett hit .600 with two doubles during the series while also going four scoreless innings on the mound Sunday. Phillips hit .400 with two doubles and several hard-hit balls that turned into outs.
19: Runs scored on Sunday by Team Snider came without any long balls. The combination of extra-base hits and plate discipline helped put up nearly 20 runs to take Game 3 and the World Series.
