Blue Raiders Extend Home Winning Streak to Eight, Longest Since 2011

MTSU move to 7-0 at home in CUSA play and a 10-2 overall home record
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee volleyball has extended its home winning streak to eight matches, marking the program's longest streak since 2011. The Blue Raiders are undefeated at home in Conference USA play (7-0) and boast a 10-2 overall home record. MTSU delivered an impressive performance, sweeping New Mexico State with set scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-17.
The Blue Raiders (13-16, 9-8) recorded their highest hitting percentage of the season at .379, while the Aggies (16-13, 10-7) managed a respectable .240. A key factor in the match was Middle Tennessee's dominance at the net, where they tallied eight blocks compared to New Mexico State's two. When recording more blocks that their opponent, the Blue Raiders hold an 8-2 record.
17 was the magic number for the Blue Raiders tonight as outside hitter Adriana Rhoda led the offense with 17 kills and libero Alivia Bronner anchored the defense with 17 digs. Rhoda has recorded 17 or more kills 15 times this season, including the last three matches. For Bronner, this was her third performance with 17 or more digs in the past four matches- a remarkable stretch as she had not hit that mark previously this season. Freshman Emma Nilson played a large part in the Blue Raiders efficient night hitting .692 with nine kills, her third time hitting above .600. The middle blocker started the night flawlessly, going a perfect 8-for-8 on attacks.
When asked about her efficient night, Emma Nilson said the following: "I think every hitter did their job tonight which opened up the offense and allowed us all to thrive. The team played with a lot of energy tonight, and we all fed off that."
