Blue Raiders host New Mexico State for Senior Day

MTSU looks to continue flawless home CUSA record
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee volleyball (12-16, 8-8) is hosting New Mexico State for a two-match series beginning Friday, Nov. 15 with first serve set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The second match is Senior Day and is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Blue Raiders have four seniors graduating: Kiera Booth, Laure Jansen, Trae McCutchan and Brooke Springer. MTSU holds a flawless 6-0 record in home CUSA matches and an impressive 9-2 overall home record. Fans can watch the upcoming matches on ESPN+ and live stats can be found at StatBroadcast.com.
Freshman setter Andi Spies took home her fourth Conference USA Freshman of the Week for her performances at Kennesaw State, this past weekend. Spies recorded 76 assists, 19 digs, 15 kills (with a .353 hitting percentage), 10 blocks, and three service aces across the series. The Fort Atkinson, Wis. native tallied a double-double in both matches, logging 37 assists and 12 digs in the first and 39 assists and 10 kills in the second. In addition to her double-double in the win, Spies contributed seven digs and six blocks. This season, Andi Spies has accumulated 992 assists, ranking her 21st in the nation. The setter is averaging 9.36 assists/set, good for second in Conference USA. Spies has also added 39 service aces, ranking third in the conference.
Junior Adriana Rhoda recorded her 1,000th career kill a few weeks back, becoming just the 15th Blue Raider to join the exclusive 1,000 kills club. Rhoda achieved this impressive feat in her 81st match, averaging an impressive 12.49 kills per match. On the season, Adriana Rhoda has recorded 415 kills and 3.92 kills/set, both ranking second in CUSA. The junior's 415 kills rank 17th in the nation. This past weekend, the Hutchinson, Minn. native recorded the first double-double of her career in a victory at Kennesaw State posting 19 kills and 13 digs, to go along with two service aces.

This series marks the ninth and 10th meetings between Middle Tennessee and New Mexico State in their programs' histories. New Mexico State holds a 7-1 record in the series, taking both matches last season. This season, the Aggies have a 16-12 overall record and a 10-6 mark in conference play.
Mike Jordan enters his 26th season as New Mexico State head coach, already the winningest coach in program history with 544 wins. Having served as head coach for only the Aggies, Jordan has amassed a career record of 544-228, ahead of the 2024 season.
The Aggies are led by Starr Williams who has recorded a team-high 324 kills. Nellie Reese leads the team in assists with 561. Libero Darian Markham is putting together a solid season with 400 digs thus far.

- Senior Laure Jansen took home CUSA Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 30) after her record-setting performance at Sam Houston on Sept. 26 where she set an all-time program-record with 39 digs in a single match.
