No home games this week due to exams; Fluellen, Stamper, latest Blue Raiders in the pros
MTSU won 16 events over the weekend's competition in the program's only home meet of the season, a good tune-up for the team's sprinters and jumpers, who have waited patiently through the fall cross country season to get in on the action.
"It was a good start to the season and it was good to see our sprinters and jumpers compete for the first time this year," head coach Keith Vroman said. "We'll take what we did this weekend and carry it with us to our next meet in January. It was nice to win both the men's and women's 4x400 to end the meet on a high note."
MTSU will return from winter break and jump right back into things, traveling to Tennessee State for their meet on January 5. You can check out the full season schedule, released early last week, below.
Good Luck on Exam Week Blue Raiders!
Middle Tennessee hosts no home events this week due to exams wrapping up across campus. The floor in the Murphy Center has already started being prepared for fall graduation ceremonies, scheduled for this Saturday, December 14.
MTSU Athletics wishes both our student-athletes and all Blue Raider students good luck on their exams as the semester wraps!
Women's Basketball set to travel to St. Josephs, Mo. to take on Kansas State
After a tough loss to Belmont on Saturday, both MTSU men's and women's basketball teams were off the past two days. But the women will be in action first between the two, traveling to the hometown of legendary Kansas State football coach Bill Synder for the Bill Synder Women's Basketball Classic in St. Joesphs, Mo., just outside of Kansas City, Mo.

The Wildcats are 10-1 so far this season, with the lone loss coming against Duke. They ranked 13th in this week's AP poll after securing wins this season over Belmont, Creighton, Depaul and Texas A&M, who the Wildcats trounced 89-50 on Sunday in College Station.
Raiders in the Pros: Fluellen signed by the Saints
Former Middle Tennessee safety Tra Fluellen (and his agent) announced that he has signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints. Drafted by the Houston Roughnecks of the UFL after missing the latter half of his final season in Murfreesboro due to knee injury, the Saints will be the first professional team he suits up for when he joins. Congrats Tra!

Raiders in the Pros: Owen Stamper makes final stage of Q School
Former Blue Raider men's golfer Owen Stamper made it through the second stage of Q School last week, qualifying him for the finals this weekend at TPC Sawgrass. Stamper tied for the win at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Dothan, Ala. with a 72-hole score of 273 (-15). With the win, Stamper guarantees himself at least eight starts on the Korn Ferry Tour next season.
Congratulations to former Blue Raider @ostamper9 on winning the Second Stage of Q-School presented by Korn Ferry!

With the win, Owen will advance to the Final Stage at TPC Sawgrass and is guaranteed 8️⃣ starts during the 2025 @KornFerryTour season!#TrueBlue pic.twitter.com/efEm3a80ZL
If Stamper finishes in the Top Five of the field at TPC Sawgrass, he will earn his PGA Tour card for the 2025 season! But that's not all that's at stake.
From the PGA Tour's website:
"- Next 40 finishers and ties at Final Stage will earn exempt status through multiple reshuffles of the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season, with the first 25 finishers and ties being subject to the third reshuffle (i.e. – guaranteed starts for the first 12 events), and any remaining finishers within the category being subject to the second reshuffle (i.e. – guaranteed starts for the first eight events)
"-All remaining finishers at Final Stage earn conditional status for the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season, in addition to being exempt through the Latin America Swing of the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season"
