Blue Raiders drop heartbreaker to Lipscomb on Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis welcomed Lipscomb to the Adams Tennis Complex on Saturday, Feb. 9. MTSU battled until the end but fell short 3-4.
The Bison took the doubles point winning on court No. 2 and No. 1. On court No. 3, Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Ilaria Sposetti picked up a 6-3 victory over Trebeznik and Pieczynska. Sana Garakani and Alessia Truden battled back from down 1-4 to force a tiebreak but fell short.
Truden took care of business on court No. 5 defeating Trebeznik 6-1, 6-0 to tie the score at 1-1 to open singles play. Lipscomb would get two points from court No. 2 and No. 1. Freshman Lena Peyer was in a battle on court No. 4. Peyer was down 1-4 in the third set and fought back to win 7-5 in the third against Dolzhenko. Sposetti battled with Galindo but fell short on court No. 3.
