Porter set a Conference USA record Saturday by going 8-for-8 from 3-point range, the most 3-pointers without a miss in league history, as part of a 41-point performance in a double-overtime win over UTEP. Porter was 11-of-16 from the floor and 11-for-12 from the free throw line with seven rebounds and three assists against the Miners. Porter's 41 points tied the third-highest mark in program history and equaled the most by a Blue Raider since 1965.
Wheeler tallied 27 points, three assists and two rebounds, where she went 7-of-18 from the field, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe in Middle Tennessee's 73-37 rout of NM State. She followed that showing with a team high 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win over UTEP. Wheeler went 5-of-8 from the field, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc and 5-of-8 from the charity stripe. She attributed to nine points (scored/assisted) in the final frame to help the Lady Raiders pull away for a 56-41 win over the Miners.

ICYMI: Sam's Very Busy Week of Clips out of the Athletic Communication Office
As a few of you may have noticed, I was in a lot of different places around the athletics side of campus this weekend, helping out with SID responsibilities at Baseball while also being involved in the post-game interviews for both Men's Basketball games this week. And before all of that, we released some interviews we had in the works with our new football staff!
You'll find links to most of my work from the past week below in case you missed any of it. I'd especially recommend checking out the podcast we did with Coach Derek Mason, which I think gives more insight into Derek Mason the person than anything we've published so far since his hire! I hope y'all enjoy!
