Blue Raiders sweep No. 29 Louisville and Tennessee Tech on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's tennis hosted No. 29 Louisville and Tennessee Tech at the Outdoor Tennis Facility on Sunday, March 10. MTSU swept No. 29 Louisville 4-0 and Tennessee Tech 7-0.
In doubles against Louisville, the Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point. On court No. 2, Javier Cueto Ramos and Marcel Kamrowski picked up a 6-2 victory over Steinbach and Mayew. To secure the doubles point, Igor Mandou Berranger and Shu Matsuoka won 6-3 on court No. 3 against Avendano and Nakanishi.
In singles against Louisville, No. 29 Leo Raquin defeated No. 33 Etienne Donnet 6-2, 6-2 on court No. 1. The win for Raquin would be his seventh win against a ranked opponent this season. Ondrej Horak earned a 6-4, 7-5 win on court No. 3 against No. 76 Will Mayew. Kamrowski clinched the Blue Raider's third ranked win of the season winning 6-3, 7-5.
MTSU secured the doubles point against Tennessee Tech with wins on court No. 3 and No. 2. Mandou Berranger and Matsuoka won 6-0 against Alvarez and Kuczynski on court No. 3. To claim the doubles point, Cueto Ramos and Kamrowski tallied a 6-0 victory over Krause and Cward.
Mandou Berranger started singles play off with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Cward on court No. 6. Horak won 6-2, 6-1 on court No. 2 over Burckhardt. Karim Al-Amin cinched the win on against Tennessee Tech on court No. 5 winning 6-3, 6-1 against Krause. Raquin, Jakub Kroslak and Matsuoka all won on their courts to complete the sweep.

"For the first match, it was kind of ironic it was just right at the 50-degree rule. The guys came out and thanks to the crowd they came out as well. It was huge support and they were really kind of rowdy which was fun to get that doubles point over a good Louisville team. In singles, five out of six first sets was huge and put the rubber stamp on this is our facility. We are going to be great here. For me, this is really special. I mean this team can't really appreciate what we had and now where we come to have all of this. It's really special to see this transformation and this facility for our players, our student-athletes, our former players and coaches to have is just awesome. I appreciate it and I'm thankful"
