Blue Raiders split two games on Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee softball (6-13) split on Saturday with a loss to North Alabama (13-5) and a win over Bradley (4-9).
Amaya Harris totaled four hits on Saturday with three RBI to lead MTSU offensively.
Game one – MTSU 1, UNA 6
The Lions scratched a run across early on a leadoff triple to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Julia Garcia hit her second homerun of the season to lead off in the bottom half of the inning and tie the game at one.
A three-run third inning for North Alabama put them back on top 4-1. A late insurance run came for the Lions in the sixth to extend the lead 5-1.
A leadoff double in the seventh by the Lions would come in to score on a two-out single. Tepe singled in the bottom of the seventh to give MTSU a baserunner, but the late rally was stopped dropping game one 6-1.
Keri Munn started in the circle in the going 2.2 innings. Claire Woods took over from there and finished out the rest of the game.
Game two – MTSU 6, Bradley 2
MTSU was able to break through in the third inning with four runs after being held scoreless the first two. Harris picked up two RBI on a single up the middle followed by a single from Carcich to score Harris. A wild pitch by the Braves also added a run in the third making it 4-0 in favor of the Blue Raiders.
Harris picked up her second double of the game in the fourth inning that scored Echols, along with her third RBI to increase the lead 6-0 Blue Raiders.
"I was just focused on staying calm and taking it one pitch at a time," said Harris. "I knew I had to produce a run for my team in that spot of the game."
Carcich through 6.0 innings to get her fifth win of the season. Mary Martinez closed out the game getting the last three outs. The Blue Raider defense did not commit an error in the game.
