HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Middle Tennessee dropped the series finale to Sam Houston 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Don Sanders Stadium.

The Bearkats (24-16, 7-8 CUSA) struck first in the second inning, plating the game's first run of the day on an RBI single to right field. The Blue Raiders (13-26, 4-11 CUSA) answered in the top of the fourth with a pair of two-out runs after a pair of RBI singles from Trace Phillips and Jackson Galloway, however, Sam Houston plated a run in the bottom of the frame to tie things back un a two runs apiece. The Bearkats added the fifth and final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth and would go on to win 3-2.

On the mound, Ollie Akens (1-2) was tabbed with the loss, while Miles Hellums (3-1) earned the win for the Bearkats and Chandler David picked up his seventh save of the season.
