Your #BlueRaiders are heading to the Starkville Regional and will take on Georgia Tech!#BLUEnited pic.twitter.com/qC7k3Dc8sV
Starkville was where MTSU was sent a season ago, where they just missed out on the program's first ever Sweet 16 appearance after sweeping Tulane in the first round and falling 4-2 to the host Bulldogs in the second. The team's task in 2024 is even more daunting, now coming into Mississippi State as the third seeded team in the pod rather than the second seeded team they were a year ago.
Make sure to read my column from yesterday to get thoughts from associate head coach Andrea Caligiana, team captain Demis Taramonlis and sophomore Marcel Kamrowski on the Blue Raiders' draw and the tournament ahead!

Track posts standout times at Music City Challenge
Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams completed this weekend's meet at the Music City Challenge.
The Music City Challenge featured top Conference USA ranked times by the Blue Raiders.
"The team looked solid this weekend at Vanderbilt," said head coach Keith Vroman. "It's great to see all the work put in this season paying dividends at the right time. It's going to be exciting to see what happens in the next few weeks with the teams peaking at the end of the season. We still have more work to do as we head into the championship season."

Vondohlen sets program record with 10-RBI Friday night
You never know what you might see at Reese Smith Jr. Field and Blue Raider fans were treated to a program record performance from Designated Hitter Brett Vondohlen on Friday night against Western Kentucky.
The redshirt freshmen went 4-for-5 on Friday night against the Hilltoppers, hitting a pair of grand slams and a two-run home run to tie the program record for home runs in a single game (3) and set the record for most RBIs in a single game (10).
Not one, not two, but three home runs for @BrettVondohlen on Friday, with two grand slams and 10 RBIs!

"I was able to take the low and offspeed pitches early and then got some more pitches that I was able to get my swing on and drive it to left center," Vondohlen said. "I knew it was going to be a high scoring game at the beginning, I could tell it was going to be a dogfight. It feels good to come out on top. This has got to be my favorite experience in college so far."
Not one, but two grand slams off the bat of @MT_Baseball eight-hole hitter Brett Vondohlen last night — and he had a third HR for good measure, too.

Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, continue to work in the transfer portal
Even as graduation preparation has covered the Murphy Center court, both Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball continued their busy offseasons in the transfer portal, with the Men signing two transfers this past week while the women added a Murfreesboro native to the squad for next season.
Check out the releases on Essam Mostafa (TCU by way of Coastal Carolina), Kamari Lands (Arizona State by way of Louisville) and Emily Monson (Purdue) to learn more about the newest Blue Raiders you'll be cheering for on the hardwood next fall!
