HUNTSVILLE, Texas. – Middle Tennessee softball (17-22, 5-8) dropped the series opener at Sam Houston (13-23, 2-11) on Friday night 3-0.
The series opener started scoreless through the first three innings at Bearkat Softball Complex on Friday night.
Kamryn Carcich started in the circle with three strikeouts through the first three frames. She is up to 59 on the season for the fifth most in Conference USA.
The Bearkats would start the scoring in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. They would add two more runs and increase the lead on a two-run home run.
MTSU was unable to get a run across on the Freshman, Amy Abke who started in the circle for Sam Houston. Ava Tepe would start the seventh inning off with a base-hit, but the late rally would come up short.
