Blue Raiders move up to third in Round 2, led by Stamper's 66

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's golf finished strong in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship, going a combined 10-under over the final five holes of the round to end the day in third place. The Blue Raiders carded a 282 (-2) Saturday and head into Sunday's third round at 567 (-1)
Owen Stamper leads MTSU at 137 (-5) after putting up a 66 (-5) Saturday. His final four holes of the day featured three birdies and an eagle on the par 5 18th. Stamper is tied for third heading into the final round.
Kevin Jegers improved by two strokes from Friday to Saturday, shooting a 70 (-1) to finish the day tied for 18th at 143 (+1). He birdied five holes in the second round, including three of his last five holes of the day.
Markus Varjun is also tied for 18th at 143 (+1) after a round of 75 (+4) Saturday.
Sheldon McKnight provided an even-par round at 71 Saturday. He moved up to 35th individually at 146 (+4).
Michael Barnard rounds out the Blue Raider lineup in a tie for 47th.
MTSU trails only No. 3 Vanderbilt and No. 5 Ole Miss in the team standings. The Blue Raiders are four strokes ahead of No. 9 Alabama.

"Great round from the guys today. We really had a nice finish as a team coming down the home stretch and really made up some ground. Owen played a great round, and hopefully we can get in the final group for the last round.
"Solid rounds for Kevin and Sheldon. Tomorrow is going to be fun."

- No. 3 Vanderbilt, playing on its home course, leads the field at 551 (-17).
- The Commodores' Gordon Sargent is the individual leader at 133 (-9).
