Middle Tennessee State University Athletics

NOTEBOOK: Congratulations to all our Blue Raider grads!
5/6/2024 4:58:00 PM | Baseball, General, Men's Golf, Men's Tennis, Softball
For me, now wrapping up my third year here in Murfreesboro, I've gotten to know many of these student athletes, and particularly GAs, quite well, making the day they leave even tougher. But, I also know how hard they've worked on the field, behind the scenes and in the classroom to achieve their goals.
So, congratulation to all of MTSU's Class of 2024, and all the area high school and community college students who will also walk across the Murphy Center stage in the coming days!
Yesterday afternoon we had a special ceremony honoring our soon-to-be @MTSU graduates! These Blue Raider student-athletes have put in many hours of work on the field or court and in the classroom!#BLUEnited pic.twitter.com/4oPXZAWtgc

Men's Tennis defeats Georgia Tech to make second round of NCAA Tournament
Men's Tennis once again dispatched their first foe of the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row, taking down No. 30 Georgia Tech on Friday 4-1.
Fresh off eight different Blue Raiders being honored in the All-CUSA announcement earlier that week, MTSU won a dramatic doubles point after Javier Cueto Ramos and Marcel Kamrowski rallied from three match points in the tiebreak to win on Court 2 7-6(7), setting up a win for MTSU after they won on courts 6, 5 and 2 in singles.
"The doubles point was just wild," head coach Jimmy Borendame said. "In my opinion, we were stronger on all three courts. We kind of let some opportunities slip away. We knew in the singles how strong we are and it was a battle. I am really proud of the guys for how we fought in the doubles and singles."
Play for us.

Softball sends seniors out with a W in final series of 2024
Middle Tennessee State (21-31, 7-18) got a great performance from a multitude of players that were donning the blue and white for one final time Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 3-0 to start the game, third baseman Claire Czajkowski ripped a double to right-center field in her final career at-bat to plate starting pitcher Kamryn Carcich, who also doubled in her final at-bat, to cap off the comeback and give the Blue Raiders a 4-3 lead, a lead which they didn't give up to take the series against New Mexico State (28-23, 13-11) in a 4-3 win.
"I was proud of all of our seniors, today," said Middle Tennessee Head Coach Jeff Breeden. "They all contributed, and it was their day today. They showed they had a lot of energy about them and got the job done.
"(The seniors' careers) have meant a lot," Breeden said. "If you just go back to last year, it was phenomenal finishing 23rd in the country. They were all instrumental in that. I'm just really happy that for them, we finished things off on a good note."

Owen Stamper makes NCAA Men's Golf Regionals as an individual
Middle Tennessee Men's Golf's Owen Stamper has been selected to the 2024 NCAA West Lafayette Regional, the NCAA announced on Wednesday.
Stamper, the Blue Raiders' lowest scoring golfer this season with an 18-hole stroke average of 71.2, is one of 10 individual golfers selected to the NCAA Regional hosted by Purdue. The regional takes place from May 13-15 at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
"I'm very happy for Owen Stamper qualifying for the NCAA regional," head coach Mark McEntire said. "It'll be great to see the MTSU logo at the regional championships and postseason. Owen had a fantastic year, and I hope that it does not stop in Indiana and continues onto the NCAA championship."
