Blue Raiders set for CUSA Outdoor Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee will travel to El Paso, Texas to compete in the Conference USA Outdoor Championships on May 10-12.
The CUSA Outdoor Championships in El Paso, Texas is hosted by UTEP at the Larry K. Durham Track at Kidd Field.

Last Time Out – Music City Challenge
Men's Top Performances
· John Sherman would finish eighth in the 200-meter final on Friday with a 21.28s personal best. He also finished fourth on Saturday in the 100-meter finals with a PR of 10.28s to rank top-10 in CUSA.
· Carmelo Cannizzaro shattered his previous 5k time after winning the Male Breakout Athlete of the year at Thursday night's Raider Choice Awards. He finished fourth on Friday night with a new personal best 14:37.20s.
· In Friday night's 1500-meter race, Habtamu Geta finished second with a personal best 3:42.20s time with Brian Kiptoo in fourth place also setting a new personal best of 3:44.48s. Sammy Sang rounded out the 1500-meter races for the Blue Raiders with a first-place finish and time of 3:51.79s.
· Wail Bourahli finished third in the 800-meter with a 1:50.64s time just shy of his previous PR that ranks third fastest in CUSA.
· Stephen Eloji ran the second fastest time in CUSA in the 110H finals to finish first place. He ran a new season best time of 13:55s.
Women's Top Performances
· Lyn'Nikka Vance placed third in the long jump invite on Friday with a 5.79m mark.
· In the 200-meter final on Friday, Leonie beu would finish second with a 23.63s personal best and Tamia Waters would place third with a23.81s personal best.
· Friday night Brooke Studnicki placed eighth in the 5k with a personal best 17:39.67s time.
· Faith Nyathi finished fifth in Friday night's 1500-meter race with a personal best 4:21.20s time.
· Tshwanelo Maruping placed third on Friday night in the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a personal best of 10:42.71s.
· Laura Odivwri would finish fourth with a personal best in the high jump with a mark of 1.66m. She also finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.10m for a personal best. Her triple jump mark is the second furthest in Conference USA.
