Eugene, Sanga and Vance named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Conference USA announced its Track and Field All-Academic Teams on Friday, which included Justin Eugene, Purity Sanga and Lyn'Nikka Vance of Middle Tennessee.
"It's always exciting to see our track and field athletes perform well in the classroom", said MTSU Head Coach Keith Vroman. "This year we have seen some major uptick in academic performance and we are hoping to see this trend continue."
Eugene accumulated a 3.68 GPA while pushing for a degree in Computer Science. He was also named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal List.
Sanga finished her degree in Public Health with a 3.83 GPA. The Kapsabet, Kenya native adds CUSA All-Academic Team to her list of accolades that include: CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll, CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal List, Raiders Choice Award's Female Athlete of the Year and NCAA Outdoor Championship 10K qualifier.
Vance accumulated a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Media and Communications. She was also named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal List. In the CUSA Outdoor Championships she was earned a bronze medal in the 4x100.
Nominees must have a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in 75 percent of the teams' scheduled games. Candidates should be a sophomore class standing, but redshirt freshmen are eligible if they have completed enough credits. The All-Academic Team was voted on by Academic Advisors across CUSA member schools.
