Blue Raiders Host North Alabama to Kick Off Matchweek 3

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team (1-2-0) is set for its matchweek three opener, as they host the North Alabama Lions (1-2-0) on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.

This week's fixture will feature the first meeting between the Blue Raiders and North Alabama in both programs' history.
About Middle Tennessee
The Blue Raiders picked up their first win of the 2024 fall season on Aug. 25 in a thrilling 3-2 win over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at Dean A. Hayes Stadium.
The Blue Raiders bounced back from their loss to the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns on Aug. 22 in Lafayette, kicking off the season's first homestand with their first result in the win column.
Three different Blue Raiders got on the scoresheet vs. Tennessee Tech, with Emma Pettersen scoring her team-high second goal of the season, and Manon Lebargy and Idun Kvaale recording their first. As a team, Middle Tennessee recorded 17 shots, with 11 on frame. Goalkeeper Demi Gronauer added three saves to her season tally, moving her total to 16.
Pettersen currently leads the way for the Blue Raiders in the scoring department with a pair of goals, an assist and five points thus far in 2024. Lebargy, Kvaale and midfielder Risui Arasaki have each provided two goal contributions on the season by adding a goal and an assist to their tally.
About North Alabama
North Alabama enters matchweek three with a current record of 1-2 thus far in 2024. The Lions defeated UT Martin 1-0 in their season opener at the Florence Sportsplex. Since then, the Lions suffered a pair of losses to Jacksonville State on Aug. 18 in a 5-0 loss to the Gamecocks and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Aug. 22 in a 3-1 loss in Tuscaloosa.
Sophomore midfielder Giada Aldini and senior forward Hope Lensing have featured as the Lions' two goalscorers through the season's opening three games.
