Blue Raiders Complete Unbeaten Weekend with 7-0 Win Over Chattanooga

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following a season-opening 4-1 win over Louisville on Friday, the Middle Tennessee women's tennis team (2-2) won its second consecutive match of 2025 today in a 7-0 result against the Chattanooga Mocs (1-3) at the Adams Tennis Complex on Sunday.
The Blue Raiders started off the match by winning the doubles point with winning the second-seeded match, and Ilaria Sposetti and Cassidy Mataia winning in the third-seeded match 6-0, and Alessia Truden and Rutuja Chaphalkar clinching the point over UTC's Madlena Orlova and Savannah Presson 6-1.
In singles play, due to injury, Chattanooga was forced to forfeit court six, moving the score to 2-0 in favor of MTSU. Truden earned the third point of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-2 win as the No. 1 seed and
Mataia clinched the match with a straight sets victory as the No. 4 seed, winning 6-3, 6-4 over UTC's Zara Burns. The Blue Raiders would claim the final three matches with Ilaria Sposetti, Rutuja Chaphalkar and Lena Peyer earning individual wins, resulting in a 7-0 sweep of Chattanooga to close out the first homestand of the 2025 season at the Adams Tennis Complex.
