Gregory breaks records, men’s and women’s tennis posts good early season results
New Mexico State, currently just one game back in the CUSA standings, and UTEP, tied for first with MTSU, travel to Murfreesboro this weekend for a pair of games in Murphy Center. The Blue Raiders will host the Aggies on Thursday evening (tipoff 6:30 p.m.) and the Miners on Saturday (tipoff 2 p.m.).
Your Blue Raiders are 5-2 in league play after splitting a road trip, winning at Sam Houston on Thursday and dropping a tight contest to LA Tech on Saturday. Defending the home court is the biggest key to staying at the top of the CUSA standings and a home environment like the one Blue Raider fans provided two weeks ago against WKU goes a long way to making Murphy Center one of the toughest places to play.

Gregory sets all-time Blue Raider three-point record
A home sweep wasn't the only headline for Middle Tennessee women's basketball over the weekend, with Jalynn Gregory setting program history, passing former teammate and current coach Courtney Whitson for the program's all-time lead in career three-pointers made, making her 301st on the first possession of the game for the Blue Raiders.

Men's Tennis beats Miami in ITA Indoor Action
MTSU bounced back from a first-round loss on Saturday to claim victory over an ACC foe on Sunday, triumphing over Miami 4-2 in New York City at the Columbia Host Site for the ITA Indoor Championships.
After dropping the doubles point, the Blue Raiders picked up wins on Courts 3 (Jakub Kroslak), 5 (Kasper Szymkowiak), 4 (Ondrej Horak) and 6 (Igor Mandou Berranger) to roll past the Hurricane.

"Miami battled hard," Head Coach Jimmy Borendame said. "The doubles point was disappointing; we have to do better. Being up breaks on all three doubles courts and then losing the point is something we need to fix. It will improve, I promise. We got the win, but we have plenty to work on this week in practice as we prepare for a strong stretch of matches coming up."
MTSU returns home to the ATC to take on Auburn on Friday. First serve in doubles is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Women's Tennis sweeps home slate this past weekend
Following a season-opening 4-1 win over Louisville on Friday, the Middle Tennessee women's tennis team (2-2) won its second consecutive match of 2025 today in a 7-0 result against the Chattanooga Mocs (1-3) at the Adams Tennis Complex on Sunday.
The Blue Raiders were aided by walkthroughs in both matches over the weekend, starting each match with earning a singles point via a forfeit on Court 6. But in both contests, the Blue Raiders dominated, with wins from Alessia Truden on Court 1 on both days.

"We played well today," Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall said. "There were some close matches and those are good to have to build character for later tough matches. I am happy with our performance this weekend, in particular Alessia and Cassidy. Looking forward to hitting the practice court and making some adjustments as we prepare for next weekend's matches in Nashville."
