Volleyball heads to Delaware for first CUSA matches with the Blue Hens

NEWARK, Del. – Middle Tennessee Volleyball is on the road to Delaware for two more Conference USA matches. The Blue Raiders will clash with the Blue Hens twice, the first match on Friday, October 10 at 5:00 p.m. CT and again on Saturday, October 11 at 12:00 p.m.
Middle Tennessee enters the weekend with momentum after taking down Tennessee State in sweep fashion. The Blue Raiders posted a season high .316 hitting efficiency against the Tigers, with five of seven Middle Tennessee attackers hitting .333 or better on the match. Raegan Durbin leads the Blue Raiders in kills, kills per set, and now aces after a five-ace performance against Tennessee State, a tied 3rd best in Conference USA for aces in a three-set match.
Defensively, the Blue Raiders stand in the top half of the conference. Middle Tennessee is 3rd in conference standings in digs per set, 6th in blocks per set, and 5th in opponent hitting percentage. Three Blue Raiders are top ten in the conference in defensive statistics; Michaela Dlouhá is 3rd in blocks, Caroline Macander is 8th in digs and Isil Yilmaz is 9th in digs.
Scouting the Delaware Blue Hens
Delaware enters the weekend 5-8 under the leadership of Kimberly Lambert in her 4th season. The Blue Hens are 8th in the CUSA standings with a 2-2 conference record.
Junior outside hitter Anna Gillens leads the Blue Hens offense with 164 kills on the season, 9th in Conference USA in kills. Kennedi Inman distributes the Delaware offense, 7th in the conference in assists with 332. Delaware is 4th in the CUSA leaderboard in blocks, Asia Murray leading the Blue Hens defensive effort at the net with 53 total blocks. Cadence Nguyen leads the Delaware back court with 147 digs, averaging 3.20 digs per set.
The Blue Raiders are 2-0 against the Blue Hens, the last meeting in 2005 resulting in a Middle Tennessee sweep. This will be the first time that Delaware and Middle Tennessee will clash as conference opponents. The matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
