Middle Tennessee Opens CUSA Tournament Against FIU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 4 Middle Tennessee (10-5-3, 4-2-1 CUSA) will face No. 5 FIU (7-5-4, 4-3-1 CUSA) in the Conference USA Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday, Nov. 2, in Lynchburg, Va.

Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series 18–9–1, with the most recent meeting on Oct. 12, 2025, a 2–1 Blue Raider victory in Murfreesboro.
Senior forward Emma Pettersen reached a career milestone in that matchup, recording her first career brace. She equalized the match before scoring the game-winning goal just six minutes later.
About Middle Tennessee
Senior forward Emma Pettersen was named to the All-Conference First Team, while graduate defender Emma Brown earned Second Team honors. Junior defender Sadie Sterbenz and senior forward Idun Kvaale were selected for the Third Team. Freshmen Alli Craig and Scottie Newton were named to the All-Freshman Team.
Pettersen also delivered the decisive goal in the 71st minute against Kennesaw State, her ninth of the season and fourth game-winner.
About FIU
Senior midfielder Chinatsu Kaio earned All-Conference honors for the first time in her career, landing on the First Team.
FIU concluded the 2025 regular season with a 1-1 draw against Conference USA newcomer Missouri State.
