MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee's doubles team of Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak delivered a strong showing at the NCAA Doubles Championships, earning a decisive first-round victory before narrowly falling in a tight Day Two matchup.
In Round 1, the Blue Raiders took control early and never looked back, defeating No.7 California Silva and Stepanov 6-3, 6-4 on Court 8. This is the duo's second win against a top-15 matchup this fall.
The pair returned to action in Round 2, where they faced a tough Ohio State team in A. Kim and B. Nakashima. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Al-Amin and Horak responded with a strong second-set push, earning a 6-4 win to force a match tiebreak. In a back-and-forth finish, MTSU came up just short, falling 13–11 in the super tiebreak.
