Middle Tennessee Men’s Tennis Opens Season Against Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's tennis opens the 2026 season with a doubleheader against Lipscomb and Tennessee Tech on Friday, January 16.
About Middle Tennessee
In the upcoming 2026 season, doubles pair Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak are ranked No. 18 in the nation, the program's highest ITA doubles ranking since Coach Borendame took over.
Senior Freddy Murray, along with Horak and Al-Amin, was named CUSA Athlete of the Months for September, October, and November.
Middle Tennessee enters the 2026 season after securing their sixth consecutive conference title, having defeated No. 2 Liberty 4-0 in the 2025 CUSA Championship Match.
The 2026 Blue Raiders roster features eight newcomers. Sophomores and seniors with experience include Eric Crivei, a sophomore who transferred from Kentucky, Birtan Duran, a junior who transferred from North Alabama, Jonasz Dziopak, a senior who transferred from Tennessee State and Freddy Murray, a senior who transferred from UNC Asheville. Freshmen joining the squad are Houston Jacques from Huntsville, Alabama, Rich LaLance from Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Santiago Lora from Cochabamba, Bolivia and Antoine Mayoral from Ménilles, France.
About Lipscomb Notes
Last year, the Blue Raiders won against the Bisons with a score of 7-0. Since 2012, the Blue Raiders have maintained a 5-0 winning streak against Lipscomb.
Ben Roeser is entering his fourth season as the head coach of Lipscomb prior to the 2025-26 season.
About Tennessee Tech
The Blue Raiders have had an 8-0 winning streak against Tennessee Tech since 2008.In 2024, the Blue Raiders defeated the Golden Eagles 7-0.
Mark Klysner has been appointed as the 18th head coach in Tennessee Tech men's tennis history prior to the 2025-26 season as this is his first season.
Match Details
The first serve for MTSU will take place at the Adams Tennis Complex on Friday, with the match against Lipscomb starting at 1 p.m. and concluding with Tennessee Tech at 5 p.m., both held at the Adams Tennis Complex.
