Middle Tennessee Sweeps Season-Opening Doubleheader at Adams Tennis Complex

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's tennis (2-0) opened the 2026 season with a pair of victories Friday at the Adams Tennis Complex, defeating Lipscomb, 7–0, before taking down Tennessee Tech, 7–0, in a season-opening doubleheader.
vs. Lipscomb
Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak earned a 6–4 win at No. 1, while Eric Crievi and Jonasz Dziopak posted a 6–2 victory at No. 2. Mayoral and Duran were ahead 5–3 at No. 3 when the match went unfinished.
In singles, the Blue Raiders secured the match with five straight wins. Horak delivered a dominant performance at No. 1, defeating Facundo Perlov 6–1, 6–1, followed by Al-Amin's 6–3, 6–2 win at No. 2. Freshman Antoine Mayoral continued his strong day with a 6–4, 6–0 victory at No. 5, Eric Crievi picked up a 6–3, 6–2 decision at No. 4, and Jonasz Dziopak closed singles play with a 7–6 (7–2), 7–5 win at No. 3.
vs. Tennessee Tech
Middle Tennessee secured the doubles point early against Tennessee Tech. The duo of Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak set the tone with a 6–2 win at No. 1 doubles, followed by Antoine Mayoral and Birtan Duran earning a 6–2 decision at No. 3. Eric Crievi and Jonasz Dziopak clinched the point with a 5–2 unfinished match at No. 2.
The Blue Raiders carried the momentum into singles play, sweeping all six courts. Horak opened singles action with a straight-sets victory at No. 1, 6–4, 6–3, while Al-Amin cruised at No. 2, 6–2, 6–1.
Freshman season debut for Santiago Lora the sweep with a dominant 6–1, 6–0 victory at No. 6. At No. 3, Duran rebounded after dropping the first set to win 0–6, 6–3, 1–0 (10–7) in the match tiebreaker. Mayoral added a 6–3, 6–2 win at No. 4, Freddy Murray battled through a second-set tiebreak at No. 5, 6–1, 7–6 (12–10), and season debut for Santiago Lora closed out the sweep with a dominant 6–1, 6–0 victory at No. 6.
