Middle Tennessee Earns First Win Over Harvard Since 2003

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee achieved a 6-1 victory over Harvard on Tuesday evening at the Adams Tennis Complex, securing the doubles point and winning five out of six singles matches.
This victory represents Middle Tennessee's first home win against Harvard, as the Crimson had never previously played in Murfreesboro. It is also the Blue Raiders' first win over Harvard since the 2003 season, when they defeated the then-No. 30 team 4-3 in Montgomery, Alabama.
Middle Tennessee took an early lead by claiming the doubles point. Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak started the competition with a 6-1 win over Nathan Blokhin and Benjamin Privara at court one, followed by Eric Crivei and Jonasz Dziopak, who secured a 6-4 victory at court two.
In singles play, the Blue Raiders achieved three straight-set victories. Crivei completed his match first with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 win over Marc Ktiri at court five. Horak followed with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against No. 109 Privara at court 1, while senior Freddy Murray added another point with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mitchell Lee at court six.
Middle Tennessee also secured victories in closely contested matches. Al-Amin defeated Rohan Murali 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2, and freshman Antoine Mayoral bounced back after dropping the second set to win against Masato Perera 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 at court four. Harvard's only point came from Blokhin, who edged Dziopak 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at court three.
