MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Head Football Coach Derek Mason announced today that offensive line coach Kendall Simmons has decided to step away from the game for personal reasons, effective immediately.
Simmons, a former Auburn standout and eight-year NFL veteran, was in his second season on Mason's staff.
"Kendall Simmons is a great man, a good coach, and a tremendous mentor to young adults," said Mason. "He's poured his heart into helping our players grow both on and off the field, and the positive influence he's had on this program will endure. We fully respect Kendall's decision and his privacy, and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this time."
Offensive Quality Control Assistant Dylan Barnett will serve as the interim offensive line coach for the remainder of the 2025 season.
