The Blue Raiders jumped out to an early lead on Friday at the Adams Tennis Center, winning the doubles point on Courts 1 and 2, before winning on Courts 4, 6 and 2, with Kacper Szymkowiak clinching on Court 2 (7-6, 3-6, 6-2) en route to an eventual 5-2 win over the Cowboys.
"I'm proud to be a Blue Raider and reach this milestone," Borendame said. "There have been some amazing coaches before me, like Coach Short, Coach Buck, and Coach McNamara, along with incredible assistant coaches who helped pave the way. But really, I've been so lucky to serve some incredible student-athletes who do all the hard work. These guys are just getting started. Go Blue!"
🙏🏽 lot of special student-athletes that made this possible, this team just getting going 👍🏽💪🏽 https://t.co/57zrwaYXqj

The Blue Raiders will host the Battle of the 'Boro this weekend, welcoming Utah, New Mexico, and South Alabama to Murfreesboro for the tournament. Middle Tennessee will face Utah in the first match on Friday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. The match will be the first of the season at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Center.
Relive the Hardcourt Sweep of Western Kentucky
It was a special Saturday on the hardwood for Blue Raider fans, who got to watch the women's basketball program control the second half for a 73-63 win over Western Kentucky in the Glass House, then turnaround as see the men's basketball team head to E.A. Diddle Arena and stand tall against multiple Hilltopper counter punches, leading the entire second half in an 87-77 win on the road.
I greatly enjoyed being there in person for all of it (and making it back to Murfreesboro through the storm that night. Please keep those affected by the floods in Kentucky and Tennessee in your thoughts and prayers this week with winter weather on the way.) Make sure to check out my dual-sidebar, released earlier this morning on GoBlueRaiders.com!

Women's Tennis picks up pair of wins at ATC
Middle Tennessee women's tennis rolled to two wins this weekend, dispatching in-state foe Belmont 6-1 on Saturday before sweeping while playing to clinch against Murray State on Sunday, winning 4-0.
"I'm happy about our performance this weekend," Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall said. "We had a few challenges to overcome, and we were able to. I like how we are competing and the energy we bring every day. Belmont and Murray State are always solid, and we knew we would have to earn each win. I am happy we stayed tough."
