Middle Tennessee Falls 6-1 to No. 26 Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. – The Blue Raiders opened their West Coast road trip with a 6-1 loss to No. 26 Pepperdine.
In doubles, Jakub Kroslak and Kacper Szymkowiak put the Raiders on the board first, defeating No. 74 Linus Carlsson Halldin and Maxi Hombreg 6-2 for their third win as a pairing this season. The Waves responded with a victory on Court 3, as Aleksa Pisaric and Lasse Poertner defeated Shu Matsuoka and Rostislav Halfinger 6-2.
The doubles point came down to Court 1, where Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak battled back from an early break to tie the set at 5-5. However, Pepperdine's Edward Winter and Hugh Winter secured a 7-5 win, clinching the doubles point for the Waves.
Kroslak carried his doubles momentum into singles play, earning the Blue Raiders' lone point with a straight-sets victory, 6-3, 6-3. The rest of the lineup struggled, with all but one Raider falling in straight sets. Szymkowiak forced a third set but ultimately fell to Edward Winter 6-7, 7-6, 5-7.
Pepperdine's victory moved the final score to 6-1.

The Blue Raiders will travel three hours south to face No. 6 San Diego on Thursday. The match is set for 12 p.m. PST (2 p.m. CST).
