MTSU looks to add one to the win column
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball heads west to Memphis, Tenn., to take on the University of Memphis in a midweek showdown on Wednesday, March 26. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at StatBroadcast.com.
The Blue Raiders (13-19, 3-6) are coming off a disappointing weekend at LA Tech, where the Bulldogs swept the three-game series. Ansley Blevins led the way for Middle Tennessee, recording a .375 batting average in the series. Game two saw Lilly Pendergrast smash the first home run of her collegiate career—a three-run shot to left-center field. Pitcher Leila Ammon recorded 10 strikeouts in the first game of the series, the most by a Blue Raider since the 2017 season.
In last week's midweek battle against UT Martin, the game was called early due to a run rule, with MTSU leading by eight runs after five innings. The Blue Raider offense capitalized on every at-bat, hitting .409 en route to eight runs scored in just four innings.
The Blue Raiders have earned five weekly awards this season, with Ansley Blevins taking Conference USA Player of the Week honors and Jana Want and Leila Ammon each securing two Freshman of the Week accolades.
