MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee is set for three home matches this week, including facing off against a brand-new foe and two Conference USA opponents.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a split weekend to open CUSA play, falling 4-1 to Liberty before bouncing back with a 5-0 win over UTEP. They will face St. Thomas, Kennesaw State, and Jacksonville State.
Vs. St. Thomas
The Blue Raiders open the week against St. Thomas tomorrow. This marks the first-ever meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Tommies. St. Thomas enters the match with a 6-7 record and is looking for its seventh win of the season.
The Tommies previously faced Minnesota, falling 5-2 to the Golden Gophers. They are currently on a two-match losing streak and will play Chattanooga before facing Middle Tennessee.
First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Vs. Kennesaw State
Middle Tennessee's second match of the week will be against its first CUSA opponent of the week, Kennesaw State. The Owls hold a 5-5 record this season and have had an up-and-down year.
Kennesaw State is coming off a 6-1 win over Mercer on March 18 but has not played since. The Owls secured the doubles point in a tough battle in their last match, with multiple singles matches going to a third set.
This match is set for Friday, March 28, at 1 p.m.
Vs. Jacksonville State
The Blue Raiders will close out the week against Jacksonville State on Saturday. This will be the third meeting between the programs since Jax State joined CUSA. The Gamecocks won last year's match 4-2, tying the all-time series at 1-1.
Jacksonville State currently holds a 7-5 record and will play two matches before heading to Murfreesboro, facing West Florida today and Tennessee State on Friday.
First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Complex.
